2017 awarded to President Club as GM at Erbert & Gerbert's Sandwich Shops - Bill & Kathi were owners of a sandwich shop in Sun Prairie WI 2015 to 2019.
What inspired you to become the athletic director, and what do you love most about your role at Eastside?
I am a person who loves sports and wanted to help out in a need by our church and school, to assist all the staff during this transition period of calling for a principal. I have been a member of Eastside Lutheran Church since 2007 just before my marriage to Kathi on June 21, 2008 by Pastor Glen Schmiege, now retired. Kathi has been a member here since 1993.
How does your faith influence your work at Eastside?
I have served in church leadership as Outreach Chairman, Discipleship Chairman, Soccer Camp Director, Youth Rally Coordinator and various other roles. Serving in God's Kingdom is giving back my gifts for the gifts he has given me. To God be the Glory!
What are your hobbies or interests outside of school?
I love to travel, watch the Brewers, root on the Badgers, play golf, entertain and grill out with family and friends at our home in DeForest. Kathi and I recently traveled to Magnolia Silos and the Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas and to see the Brewers play in Houston.
What is a fun fact about you that students may not know?
I played hockey as a left wing and defensemen, 2nd grade through high school at Madison LaFollette, where I also played baseball. I am a Minnesota Vikings Fanatic! SKOL!
What is your favorite Bible verse, and why?
Psalm 28:7 - The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
It reminds me to turn all my anxious moments to him in prayer and be thankful for his sacrifice on the cross, and I too shall be saved. To do all I can to give back to my faith as he has given to me every day of my life.
