What inspired you to become a teacher, and what do you love most about your role at Eastside?

I have always loved spending time with children, and I had many opportunities while growing up to volunteer or work with them, including much encouragement along the way from teachers and role models. I love being able to work at the school that my children attend/attended and greatly appreciate the flexibility I have had in getting back into the classroom while balancing my busy family life. The support from families and co-workers with a common faith is also a wonderful thing that makes it such a fulfilling job.

How does your faith influence your work at Eastside?

It is a blessing to be able to teach the students and integrate God's Word in every aspect each day. It is so uplifting to be able to pray for and with the students and staff. I trust that God will bless the work I do for Him.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of school?

Playing word games, planning fun activities and traditions for my family, crafts, watching my children's sports

What is a fun fact about you that students may not know?

I won my school's spelling bee when I was in 8th grade!

What is your favorite Bible verse, and why?

Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

This verse reminds me that the Lord always knows what is best for me during my journey on earth, even if my plans don't go the way I expect them to. It provides comfort, knowing that whatever happens in my life, God is in control and will make all things work out as He sees fit.
